I'm finally pretty sure I won't be homeless when I get kicked out of the dorm - which is very good news to me. Also, it's looking like I'll hit some festivals during the summer, although not all the details are in place yet.
Zodiac was very cool, and with a great cast. The George Michael show was pretty entertaining, largely due to the enormous, jumbotron bigscreen. The music was as bland as you would imagine. Sunday, May 20, 2007
Like the Lone Gunmen?
Swedish TV is showing The Original Kings of Comedy right now. I've seen it before, and it's brutally unfunny. It turns out that the difference between black people and white people is that black people are really wild and funny, whereas white people boring and unfunny. Very original. Also, there can only be one king of anything: Elvis = King of rock and roll. Michael Jackson = King of pop. Four different kings of comedy working at the same time? That shit don't fly. Especially when the only one of them who is actually funny is Bernie Mac. Monday, May 14, 2007
Now, where's Andrew Ridgely?
In a bizarre twist of faith our team lost the pubquiz tonight, and are thereby pretty much doomed to second place oblivion. BUT, and that's a pretty big but, I somehow managed to win two tickets to the George Michael concert on saturday. I am honestly a bit baffled about the entire thing, but I suspect that it will be fun, and I'm actually looking forward to it. Good stuff. Sunday, May 13, 2007
Rubbish Season.
Well the Arsenal's season is finally over, and it ended in a way that's very symptomatic for all of the season. While Liverpool couldn't win, Arsenal wasted a great chance to finish third. Baptista, who has been dissapointing all season, missed a penalty, which is realy as big a chance as you can get. Against David James even, who is legendarily rubbish. It's been a season to forget. The Puls festival was quite funny though, although perhaps a bit hard on the economy and the liver. Thursday, May 10, 2007
I don't really know what Sorry means. I've been listening to Draconian Times by Paradise Lost today, and it still amazes me how ahead of its time it was. It's quite simply brilliant, and if it had come out today reviewers would have soiled themselves with exitement. Perhaps even moreso, if they hadn't looked like five plonkers from Halifax. I really, honestly and truly believe that everytime a young dude walks into a Matas store, looking to buy an eyeliner for his goth outfit, the clerc should sit him down and force him to listen to Draconian Times, Icon, Shades of God, and not least Gothic. Anyone under 25, who hasn't heard Gothic by PL, should forever be ousted from the Goth community. And perhaps even society in general. Maybe that's a cause for Ny Alliance. If so, they have my vote. Lazy Days.
This long weekend thing is really very nice. I had a couple of beers thursday after work, and yesterday I saw Sunshine, which was pretty good but far from outstanding. The editing was really cool, and Cliff Curtis (who played Paolo Escobar in Blow) was very cool in it. I also saw the trailer for Die Hard 4.0, which features a police car flying into a helicopter and exploding. And they blow up the White House. I'm so going to see that movie. Today I'll try to catch some sun, and go see Hayseed Dixie. And then tomorrow: Arsenal vs. Chelsea. For now I'll go have some very bacony breakfast. Good stuff. Thursday, May 03, 2007
This ain't a scene...
It seems a lot of people are neglecting their blogging duties. Not Anders O though, who has returned to the land of internet-aplenty. (Still waiting for the housewarming invite though.) Honorable mentions also go to Jones who is busy looking at Youtube. I'm still looking for a place to live, which is a huge bummer. It seems there's a city-wide conspiracy to have me living on the streets by the end of the month. So please feel free to help out in anyway you can. On the plus side, I'll start my days as a hobo by going to the Spot festival on the day I'm kicked out of my dorm. I'm also going to be reviewing Hayseed Dixie when they play in Aarhus on saturday. I'm not sure what to expect, could go either way. It should be fun though. Finally, my goth/industrial theme for the Tour de Chambre went really well, although as the picture will show I looked more like a Fall Out Boy than a proper goth. Oh well...
