The Blues Gave Me The Blues

After watching the Arsenal vs Auxerre game last night I went straight to bed, hoping I would wake up and it had all been a dream. At 2AM my cellphone woke me up because I had received a text-message from a friend: "They're suddenly awfully quiet at Highbury now... - Go Liverpool!". Apparently it hadn't been a dream. Neither had the loss against Everton on Saturday. Over the last couple of days I've been on the receiving end of 100's of messages all slagging the mighty Gunners. (That'll teach me to hang out with Sp*rs fans and scoussers). These people have apparently already forgotten the team's amazing performances over the last season - like they also have a tendency to forget Seaman's increddible talent everytime a ball gets past him. Well, they're all a bunch of bastards anyway.
I think the common impression between people who have been supporting the team for some, who've seen the Boring Arsenal of the Graham years and the not as talented teams of the past - Parlour, Morrow and Hillier, can you think of a midfield sillier? - is that the loss against Everton may turn out to be a healthy thing. The hype around the team was perhaps getting a bit out of control. I for one started the season by being unbelievably possitive, even though games against teams like Zaragosa, Galatasaray and latest Juventus, has taught me to be cautious. Now we know that we are the same old Arsenal, still able to beat United, and still able to lose against lesser teams. But at least we've gone from Boring Arsenal to Scoring Arsenal.

Let there be no talk of crisis, and if someone mentions it, just say that the Japanese have the same word for "crisis" as for "opportunity" - Criseatunity!

Fun Stuff, Boring Stuff and Stuff

Here we go, I totally stole this from Arseblog, but it must be some of the weirdest stuff I've ever seen.

I saw the Denmark vs. Luxembourg game on Saturday, and it was perhaps one of the dullest experiences of my life (not including the recent Liverpool vs Chelsea game... yikes!). Denmark won 2-0 against the 3rd crappiest team in Europe, and they didn't score until the second half, and that was on the thinnest penalty ever. The second goal, however, was pretty cool. Ebbe Sand scored with a flying header, which we haven't seen much lately.

The weather has been unbelievably shite lately, it's cold and it's been pouring down, so I've been going for a Lloyd Cole-ish kinda look; black turtleneck sweater, black leather jacket and generally looking miserable. But everywhere I go, people keep telling me that I look more like a burglar or a hitman, so I guess I don't look quite as intellectual as I hoped. Maybe I should start listening to more Nick Drake and less Slipknot on my walkman, while cruising around town.

Hmmm, what the hell happened? Apparently everything i have written, now looks just like the headlines..... That wasn't supposed to happen! Better look into that at some point.

Autumn Depression Comes Late This Year

What can I say, since my last blog entry Arsenal have played 3 games and won them all with an impressive 9-1 scoreline. I have actually managed to see all 3 games, eventhough I live in Denmark where they usually only show United games. We have seen the arrival of Pascal Cygan in central defence, and he has been thorouhly impressive (even managing to kick Lee Bowyer in the head without the ref noticing it), and Gilberto, who isn't exactly my favorite gunner, has scored the fastest goal ever in CL history. What's not to be impressed at?

Tomorrow will be yet another fight at my work, resisting the urge to go postal and kill all the angry old bitches who also work there, but Arsenal have definitely improoved my mood throughout the last week, and of course the prospect of a 12 hour alcoholbinge should carry me through the day. - And by the way, I just had a haircut, which makes me look kinda human again, and pretty damn smooth if I shall say myself.

I haven't found anything cool on the net lately, which explains the lack of links, but if you need anything to make you feel happy go here or here.
